Colts Dismiss Caldwell as Shakeup Continues

I completely disagree with this firing. Caldwell has done a great job with Indy. No one was prepared for a season without Peyton Manning. I hope Peyton takes his ball and goes home because of this. I wonder which white coach will be recycled to replace Caldwell. All things considered, Caldwell was a winning coach. I know coaches in the league that haven't been to the playoffs in years, let alone the Superbowl, and they have not been fired. Truly amazing!! I hope he lands somewhere soon.

Jim Caldwell was Peyton Manning’s quarterbacks coach for seven years before he became the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts two years ago and promptly led the team to the Super Bowl.

He was fired Tuesday as part of a shakeup that had already cost Bill and Chris Polian their jobs as the team’s top front-office executives.

The new general manager, Ryan Grigson, indicated Tuesday that the Colts were a long way from making a decision about whether Manning would return. The Colts are expected to use the first overall pick in the spring draft, which they earned by going 2-14, on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. But Grigson said the team still needed significant medical information about Manning’s recovery from his third neck operation before making a decision about his future.
