Anthony Weiner: I am resigning

I knew when I saw Attorney Gloria Allred on TV with a former porn star, that Anthony Weiner was in trouble. It was only a matter of time before he would have to buckle under the pressure. I also knew that once the President made his statement, it would be analyzed and dissected to the nth degree and a correlation would be made.

I still do not think that Weiner should resign. But I agree with Keith Olbermann, if Weiner resigns, so should Vitter. At the end of the day, Weiner is resigning because he got caught lying, not because he broke any laws. There seems to be a double standard as it relates to these types of issues.

Since he has resigned, I agree with Olbermann again. He should run for office in the special election and let the people decide if they want him to represent them.

In my opinion, this is a sad day in politics.
