Featured Presentation by Jema Hill Cook, "Managing the “Ship” in Leadership and Relationship: What Women in Leadership Need to Know"

How do you lead and manage people that you know personally? How do you balance professional and personal relationships? Working with people that we know can be a difficult task at times. It is important for you, the leader, to guide the ship and not allow the ship to guide you. In guiding the ship, a leader has to realize that some passengers will want to change ships now that you are in charge. How do you manage the ship when it is just you and the open seas? How do you get others excited about being on your ship?

There are 5 steps to Managing the 'ship' in Leadership and Relationship:
1) Who is on Your Ship ?;
2) What happens when you are shipwrecked ?
3) What to do when you find yourself 'stranded on an island ?
4) Recognizing the 'Castaways
5) Turning the Ship around.
