Obamas take in star-studded holiday concert

First Sunday morning, the President and his family walked across the street and went to church. Then Sunday evening, they went to a holiday concert. In his comments, he recognized the birth of Jesus Christ as having changed the world. I wonder how the 'right wing crazies' are going to play this on the talk shows.

The Obamas shared the stage with a few stars on Sunday night at the “Christmas in Washington” concert at the National Building Museum. Comedian Conan O’Brien, songstress Jennifer Hudson, Nickelodeon’s Victoria Justice and pop sensation Justin Bieber joined the first family for the last number of the evening, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”

In brief remarks, Obama called on those gathered to reflect on the birth of Christ. “He was no ordinary child,” said the president, according to a White House transcript. “He was the manifestation of God’s love. And every year we celebrate His birth because the story of Jesus Christ changed the world."

Obama thanked the musical artists for a “spectacular evening” and tipped his hat to O’Brien – the evening’s emcee – calling him “the host of the best late night show on TBS" to laughter from the crowd.
