NBA owners, players union still far apart in labor negotiations

This is not looking good for those of us that love basketball. How is it that players and owners in major sports are not communicating vwey well? There are so many people that are affected by this lockout. Just as it was with the NFL, the amount of vendors and concession people that will not have jobs this season, is completely unacceptable. I hope they can work it out soon.

NBA labor negotiations will resume Saturday after a Friday meeting in which Dwyane Wade reportedly shouted at Commissioner David Stern and no deal was reached.

A nearly five-hour labor meeting between NBA owners and players, including superstars Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony, closed Friday with uncertainty over whether games at the start of the regular season would be canceled.

Talks are scheduled to resume in New York on Saturday at 7 a.m. Pacific time.

Derek Fisher, players union president and Lakers point guard, told reporters that no new proposals were exchanged during a sometimes contentious but "engaging" session that included NBA Commissioner David Stern and a dozen owners.
