Can Boehner get a deal done?

It appears as if the Congress, 535 people, are playing games with the lives of millions of people. We elected them to serve us. To create laws that benefit the majority, not the minority. In my opinion, the majority of them have forgotten why they went to Congress. Maybe they should watch 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' to get a reminder. It appears as if the WH is finally taking a stand as it relates to taxes. I think the Republicans are trying to bully the President again just like they did in December when it came to unemployment and the Bush taxes. If all these tax cuts were suppose to create jobs, then where are the jobs? I hope the Democrats rally around the President and hold the Republicans to the fire.

After House Majority Leader Eric Cantor refused to discuss possible tax increases as part of the agreement and halted the bi-partisan negotiations led by Vice President Joe Biden, the pressure to get a deal falls on John Boehner.

Boehner confidants are in damage control mode after Cantor's surprise high-profile exit from the talks, telling POLITICO that he knew all along that Cantor would step away from the negotiating table before reaching an agreement.

But behind the scenes, Republican leaders are frightened they won't votes to pass any deal to avoid default.
