Prosecutors drop one perjury count against Barry Bonds

Look at what the article is reporting.  "The initial 11-count case against Barry Bonds is now down to four after the government this morning dropped the charge that baseball's all-time home run leader perjured himself when he denied trainer Greg Anderson had provided him performance-enhancing drugs before 2003.

The prosecutors' decision had been expected after Judge Susan Illston on Tuesday said she was likely to dismiss the count because at the trial she only found evidence from 2003 linking Bonds to drugs from the Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative (BALCO).  Prosecutors had narrowed the original indictment to four counts of perjury and one of obstruction of justice before the trial began.
