Just as election season gets kicked off, I hear Glenn Beck is leaving the Fox News show. I don’t know what I am going to do now that I can’t watch him make up stories about President Obama. It was quite comical at times. Never the less, I am sure he will be missed. Here is what Politico had to say.
“Glenn Beck will leave his daily show on Fox News , the third-highest rated program on all of cable news, by the end of the year, Beck and Fox News Chairman and Chief Executive Roger Ailes announced Wednesday.
The move caps months of speculation about Beck’s future with Fox News, intensified last month after The New York Times’s David Carr reported that Fox officials were looking at the end of Beck’s contract in December and “contemplating life without Beck.” Beck’s investments in his own website, The Blaze, and ever-expanding multimedia empire suggested he was contemplating the same thing.
But the relationship, marked by tensions that often spilled into the media, will not be completely severed. Beck and Fox will “work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel, as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’s digital properties,” according to a joint release. “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards,” Ailes said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
