Michael Ealy has been cast as the male lead alongside Kate Beckinsale in 'Underworld 4: New Dawn,' the fourth film of the franchise for Screen Gems and Lakeshore that will be shown in 3D.
After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.
Ealy will play a police detective who hunts the vampiress and ultimately teams up with her, stated Deadline.com.
The Maryland native last starred opposite Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, and Thandie Newton in Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls,' and robbed banks with Chris Brown, T.I., and Idris Elba in the heist film, 'Takers.'
He recently finished a ten episode arc as attorney Derrick Bond in the second season of the CBS drama series, 'The Good Wife.'
The first film, 'Underworld,' was released in 2003, and the second film, 'Underworld: Evolution,' came out in 2006. A prequel, 'Underworld: Rise of the Lycans,' was released in 2009.
