A large brawl broken up by about 30 police officers at a Fletcher church Sunday stemmed from an attempt to get rid of the pastor, church members said Monday.
Officers from five agencies in Henderson and Buncombe counties responded just after noon to Greater New Zion Baptist Church at 38 Talley Drive after a sheriff's deputy providing routine security at the church called about a fight, according to Capt. Jerry Rice with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.
Rice said the incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, nor were any injuries reported.

What has happened to the Black Church? In my opinion, pastors are being elected by people, instead of being appointed by God. Many have been called to preach or teach, but it becomes questionable when their activities don't line up with The Word of God. It's not just in Black churches either; it's everywhere. God has already warned us. He said, "Beware of wolves in sheep clothing." Everybody is not who they profess to be.
