Verizon drops it's $2.00 fee... Can you hear US now!


Just 24 hours after the blogosphere and social media sites ignited a firestorm against Verizon's proposed "convenience fee," Verizon decided not to charge the $2 fee for every payment subscribers make over the phone or online with their credit cards. It turns out that a petition was filed on the website change.org against the fees and as a result gathered almost 60,000 names as of Friday afternoon.

This comes on the hills of Bank of America's decision to drop its planned $5 monthly debit card fee after two major competitors — Wells Fargo and the nation’s largest bank, JPMorgan Chase — said they were backing away from their plans to levy similar charges.  BoA later said, "We have listened to our customers very closely... and recognize their concern with our proposed debit usage fee."

I am glad to see that the corporations and banks are finally starting to pay attention to their consumers. After all, WE are the ones that are making their business stay afloat.
