Republican debate in South Carolina tests Rick Perry and Herman Cain once again

I hope Rick Perry gets some rest. I also hopes he takes some different medicine for his headaches. Herman Cain needs to take seriously the accusations against him. I hope he acts like the man he professes to be. I hope this debate is a lot more serious than the last one. We are in serious times and they are treating it like a joke.

A debate on Saturday night in this key primary state comes as the Republican presidential field remains remarkably unsettled, with both businessman Herman Cain and Texas Gov. Rick Perry recovering from major blows to their candidacies while presumptive frontrunner former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney still struggles to consolidate support.

Perhaps more than any of the other contenders, Perry needs a strong performance at the session in Spartanburg, which will be solely about foreign policy and national security issues. The one-time Republican frontrunner has become a national laughing-stock after being unable to recall the three government departments he would seek to close if elected president at a debate earlier this week.
