Herman Cain is WRONG!! READING MATTERS!!!!!!

I am truly offended by Herman Cain's latest comments. Herman Cain said,"We need a leader not a reader". This statement comes from a man that was born in Memphis, Tn. in 1945. Memphis as we know, was one of those cities that was critical in the Civil Rights Movement. Herman Cain has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College. One of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities(HBCU) in the country. He received a Master of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University. He has honorary degrees from 8 different colleges and universities. His wife, Gloria, has work experience as a teacher and a librarian. Herman Cain is an Associate Minister at Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta, Georgia.

So how is it that a man who obviously has done a lot of reading all of sudden wants to turn his back on it? This is one sound bite that I hope we do not let Herman Cain get away with. This is completely unacceptable for a person running for the highest office in the land to imply that reading is not important. He is a licensed/ordained minister. He knows that scripture says in II Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." How can one study to show himself approved if he doesn't read?

In my opinion, Herman Cain needs to apologize to every teacher he has ever had. He needs to apologize to his wife for devaluing her career choices. He needs to apologize to ever person that fought, marched, bleed, sat in and laid down for his poor choice of words.

He should not be given the opportunity of 'joking' this away. This is a serious matter. America has been falling behind educationally for years in math and reading behind other countries.

If Herman Cain wants to be President of the United States of America, then he needs to act like it. He cannot continue to dummy down this process and think it is ok. This behavior is unacceptable and he needs to either change his behavior or get out of the race.
