Huntsman to meet with Perry, Really?

Is Jon Huntsman trying to put together a winning ticket to defeat the President? As great as some on the national scene think Gov. Perry is, I doubt if that is the same feeling in the great of Texas. I hope Huntsman does his homework on Gov. Perry.

Jon Huntsman will head to Texas next week for lunch with Gov. Rick Perry, a Huntsman aide told reporters Sunday.

Huntsman and his wife, Mary Kaye, will dine with the governor and his wife, Anita Perry, on June 2nd.

Perry has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate himself, though he has consistently shot down all discussion of a campaign.

Huntsman also plans to dine with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has been urged to run for president, though the two have yet to find a new date for their original postponed meeting.

Huntsman was in New Hampshire on Sunday wrapping up a five-day tour of the state. Before the Texas visit, he’ll head to Washington to attend AIPAC’s conference and then to Los Angeles for two days of fundraising. He and his family will be back home in Utah for Memorial Day weekend.
